FK Lowry were contracted to install 109 No. 250mm Sq. and 438 no. 355mm Sq. Precast Piles for working loads ranging from 275kN to 1250kN. The ground conditions consisted of Made Ground overlying firm Silts before Dense Gravels were encountered from 4.5m. This was further underlain by Very Stiff to Hard Dublin Black Boulder Clay.

“We were able to offer a cost effective driven precast solution for the Client and we mobilised our latest Driven Rigs in the Juntann PMX20 Rigs with 5t accelerated Hammers. Due to the proximity of the central business district and adjacent private residential developments, we programmed our precast pile deliveries to ensure the least disruption for local businesses and residents.”
Martin McKinstry, Contracts Engineer

FK Lowry also undertook 2 No. Static Load Tests and 10% dynamic tests in order to prove the pile design.

FK Lowry Piling operate a fleet of Juntann Rigs with the latest Tier IV Engines in order to comply with EU Directive on Non-Road Mobile Machinery emissions.
