Lagan Construction Group…Celebrating female engineers in Northern Ireland

In honour of National Women in Engineering Day 2016 the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) have commissioned this video “Celebrating female civil engineers in Northern Ireland” to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus attention on the career opportunities available to girls within the construction industry in Northern Ireland.

Ciara Doherty, engineer with Lagan Construction Group took part in the video to give her insight of working in the construction industry.

This years National Women in Engineering Day (NWED) takes place on Thursday 23rd June 2016 and Lagan Construction Group will be hosting an event to mark the occasion at their City Quays II site in Belfast with local school girls attending the event.

The NWED initiative was set up by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) who are a charity that work in a number of ways in order to support women in engineering; by encouraging the study and application of engineering, by promoting gender equality and diversity in the workplace, and by awarding excellence and achievements.
